Practical market worksheet

Two Contract Specifications Comparison Sheet

Place two contract specifications side by side and expose missing facts.

Your inputsBrowser calculationCSV export

The hypothetical inverse side quotes USD, settles BTC and uses 10 USD per contract. The hypothetical linear side quotes and settles USDT and uses 0.001 BTC per contract. Both say Perpetual and omit funding interval. Six fields are compared, four supplied fields differ, and two field values are missing.

What this helps you check

A contract name alone does not tell you its payout or units. This printable worksheet compares six supplied facts: quote currency, settlement currency, payout type, size, expiry and funding interval. It counts differences only where both values are supplied, while missing values remain visibly unknown.

A difference count is not a suitability score. Case-insensitive text agreement is only agreement in the supplied wording; it does not verify a specification. Use the browser's print command to keep the visible result with dated source notes, and recheck facts when product rules change.

The example is invented to demonstrate the method. It is not a current market quote, a provider's fee schedule or verified trading performance.

How the worksheet works

  1. Compare exactly six facts: quote, settlement, payout, size, expiry, funding_interval.
  2. Trim for comparison; compare supplied strings case-insensitively.
  3. Empty strings or 'unknown' count as missing, not agreement; count missing values per side.
  4. A field counts as different only when both values are supplied and unequal.
  5. Names and source URLs are recorded but excluded from difference count.

A difference count is not a suitability score. Case-insensitive text agreement is only agreement in the supplied wording; it does not verify a specification. Use the browser's print command to keep the visible result with dated source notes, and recheck facts when product rules change.

Boundaries to keep in view

  • No inferred compatibility or correctness from identical symbols.
  • Worksheet accepts manual facts; it does not validate current provider specifications or region eligibility.
  • Quanto may be recorded as a type but no quanto P&L is calculated.

Compare resources for this task

Contract facts need exact official references and explicit unknowns. The comparison asks how each resource supports quote and settlement definitions, payout, multiplier, expiry and funding information without claiming that one contract is better.

The sources document formats, mechanisms or record workflows. The arithmetic and editorial comparison on this page use the supplied worksheet definitions.

  • Deribit inverse futures units

USD contract size and order amount differ from BTC/ETH settlement units; base_currency alone does not identify contract_size units.

  • BitMEX perpetual payout types

Inverse, linear and quanto contracts have different payouts and multiplier units.
